Delivery Preparation Checklist

Ensure your site is ready for smooth container delivery.

Critical Requirements

Flat, Level Surface

Container must sit on a flat, level surface. Uneven ground can cause structural issues.

Adequate Clearance

Minimum 14 feet wide clearance for delivery truck. More is better for easier placement.

Length Requirements

10' container: 40-50 ft length needed. 20' container: 50-60 ft. 40' container: 60-80 ft.

No Overhead Obstructions

Check for power lines, tree branches, or other overhead obstacles. Minimum 15 feet clearance.

Site Preparation Steps

1.

Clear the Area

Remove any debris, vehicles, or obstacles from the delivery area and access path.

2.

Level the Ground

Ensure the placement area is level. Use gravel, concrete blocks, or leveling pads if needed.

3.

Check Access Route

Verify the delivery truck can access your property. Check gate widths, turns, and road conditions.

4.

Mark the Location

Use stakes or markers to indicate exactly where you want the container placed.

5.

Verify Permits

Check with your local municipality if permits are required. Have them ready before delivery.

Common Issues to Avoid

  • Soft or muddy ground: Container may sink or become unstable. Use gravel or concrete pads.
  • Insufficient clearance: Delivery truck needs space to maneuver. Measure twice!
  • Steep inclines: Delivery trucks cannot navigate steep driveways. May need alternative placement.
  • Narrow gates: Standard gates may be too narrow. Minimum 12 feet wide recommended.
  • Low-hanging branches: Clear tree branches that could interfere with delivery.
